Tironook releases dates for summer Prep Camp series to share with others the training principles found most effective in preparing wrestlers for national competitions

The Tironook Prep Camps are invitation only camps designed for serious wrestlers in the state of Oklahoma whom are preparing for upcoming national tournaments throughout the summer. Tournaments such as Southern Plains Regional, Southeast Regional, Cadet National Duels, Junior National Duels, Fargo Nationals, Preseason Nationals, Kansas City BLUE CHIP, and Super 32 are all events that helps our athletes gain experience and exposure in the sport of wrestling. It is imperative that wrestlers come to camp in adequate physical condition. Practice sessions will be structured and held at a challenging high pace (in other words, it will be tough). For quality control of the wrestling room and all training sessions, we're only permitting a limited number of camp enrollees. Any wrestler not going to either tournament but wanting to participate in camp may do so on a first-come, first-serve basis but must get approved through the Tironook camp staff. All training sessions will be held at the Tironook School of Wrestling gym location in Oklahoma City. Campers must have a valid USA wrestling card to participate in all practice sessions. If you are interested in partaking in any of this summer’s Prep Camps, you may do so by clicking on the available camp link below and filling out the camp request form. Or you can email Coach Lewis at tyrone@tironookschoolofwrestling.com or call 405-601-4061.

Helping the OKC community stay on task with fitness: Tironook School of Wrestling offers fitness classes to the public.

While growing in numbers for the sport of wrestling at the Tironook training compound, head coach Tyrone Lewis finds new ways to reach out to the community by offering summer fitness classes. Coach Lewis explains why he feels the need to start fitness classes at Tironook School of Wrestling. “Why not? This is what we do here. We help individuals reach their maximum potential and accomplish their goals.” Tironook School of Wrestling is going into their second summer of operation, and by the looks of things, maximum potential for the future of this rising gym looks very bright. “Our number one focus here has always been and will always be our athletes or anyone who walks through these doors to train in this facility.”  The TASC (Training, Agility, Strength, and Fitness) program is designed for those looking to participate in a 4-week physical training activity in a group setting. There are currently two class options. The “Adult TASC” will start at 6:00 a.m. and the “Youth/Teen TASC” will start at 3:00 p.m. Both classes will start on May 28th and will run on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. TASC Fitness is an activity program for all youth, teens and adults looking to stay energetic and be involved with physical exercise throughout the summer. “We feel that Training, Agility, Strength and Conditioning (T.A.S.C.) are key essentials for anyone to build self-confidence, a positive attitude and self-respect. Our goal is to help everyone develop life skills through exercise and fitness such as patience, social connection, resilience and work ethic.” This class will consist of a 12 -minutes warm-up, plyometric drills, followed up by 25 minutes of timed exercise stations and closing with an 8-minute group ab workout & stretch. For more information about the TASC program, you may call 405-601-4061, go to http://tironookschoolofwrestling.com/tasc/ or email Coach Lewis at tyrone@tironookschoolofwrestling.com. Due to quality control, a maximum of 20 persons per class will be allowed to enroll. Each class enrollment will end once capacity is reached.

TSOW Fundraising Donation Drive

Dear Potential Sponsor:

Join the Team! Tironook School of Wrestling is seeking sponsorship donations for its upcoming 2017-2018 season (October 2nd – February 8th). In order to assure a successful program for the youth of our community, we rely heavily on local businesses that serve our community to provide sponsorship donations and help underwrite the cost for our youth wrestling program.

Wrestling is a sport of individual participation functioning within the framework of a team concept.  This aspect contributes to the development of life long patterns of responsible behaviors including discipline, the ability to set goals and achieve them, and respect for others.  A young person involved in wrestling can be expected to display increasing self-confidence and appreciation of their self-worth.

All of the collected funds will be directed towards uniforms, equipment, gym operation, team building activities and much more.  Your sponsorship donation will guarantee that this becomes a successful and enjoyable season. Please give this request careful consideration. For your convenience, below we have provided sponsorship donation options to best fit your business need. If you have any other request or idea options, feel free to contact us.

Please provide us with a jpeg image of your business card and company logo by emailing them both to tyrone@tironookschoolofwrestling.com.
